| Beckham sidelined for about 6 months (AP)
- David Beckham is recovering well from surgery on his left Achilles' tendon and will start to walk on crutches in his first rehabilitation exercises on Tuesday, the doctor who performed the operation said. The tendon was totally torn, and orthopedic surgeon Sakari Orava said the 34-year-old Beckham is expected to be out of action for about six months.

- Seattle Mariners ace Cliff Lee was ejected from a spring training game Monday against Arizona for throwing at Diamondbacks catcher Chris Snyder. Afterward, Diamondbacks third baseman Mark Reynolds called Lee's actions "bush league."
